Bodystat QuadScan 4000 vs OMRON BF511

Bodystat QuadScan 4000 and OMRON BF511: compare documented specifications, features and limitations. Check the reports and explanation offered by the provider. More features alone do not establish better accuracy.

Bodystat QuadScan 4000: when to consider it

QuadScan 4000 measures impedance at four frequencies using adhesive electrodes. Alongside estimated fat and fat-free mass, it reports body-water compartments, resistance, reactance and phase angle. Testing is supine; the operator enters height and weight.

OMRON BF511: when to consider it

BF511 is a scale with eight sensors contacting hands and feet. It uses 50 kHz BIA to estimate body-fat percentage, skeletal-muscle percentage and visceral-fat level alongside weight and BMI. It provides a whole-body overview; separate limb results are not documented.

Fat-free mass is not pure muscle mass. A single result is not a diagnosis. Different devices and similarly named metrics may use definitions that are not interchangeable.
