Bodystat QuadScan 4000 vs Tanita RD-545HR

Bodystat QuadScan 4000 and Tanita RD-545HR: compare documented specifications, features and limitations. Check the reports and explanation offered by the provider. More features alone do not establish better accuracy.

Bodystat QuadScan 4000: when to consider it

QuadScan 4000 measures impedance at four frequencies using adhesive electrodes. Alongside estimated fat and fat-free mass, it reports body-water compartments, resistance, reactance and phase angle. Testing is supine; the operator enters height and weight.

Tanita RD-545HR: when to consider it

RD-545HR uses dual-frequency segmental BIA with a handle and app connection. It provides fat, muscle and regional results as well as heart rate. HR distinguishes it from the original RD-545; a scale’s bone-mass estimate is distinct from bone densitometry.

Fat-free mass is not pure muscle mass. A single result is not a diagnosis. Different devices and similarly named metrics may use definitions that are not interchangeable.
