Bodystat QuadScan 4000 vs OMRON BF300
Bodystat QuadScan 4000 and OMRON BF300: compare documented specifications, features and limitations. Check the reports and explanation offered by the provider. More features alone do not establish better accuracy.
Bodystat QuadScan 4000: when to consider it
QuadScan 4000 measures impedance at four frequencies using adhesive electrodes. Alongside estimated fat and fat-free mass, it reports body-water compartments, resistance, reactance and phase angle. Testing is supine; the operator enters height and weight.
OMRON BF300: when to consider it
BF300 is a handheld body-fat monitor using arm-to-arm BIA. A primary study describes a single 50 kHz frequency, four electrodes and standing measurement with arms extended. Its principal output is estimated body-fat percentage; it is distinct from the BF511 scale.
Specifications side by side
Highlighted rows differ. Unknown values stay unknown.
| Specifications | Bodystat QuadScan 4000 | OMRON BF300 |
|---|---|---|
| Method | Multi-frequency BIA | Bioelectrical impedance (BIA) |
| Measurement frequencies | 5, 50, 100, 200 kHz | 50 kHz |
| Measurement position | Supine | Standing |
| Electrodes | 4 adhesive electrodes | 4 contact electrodes for both hands |
| Documented outputs | Estimated fat, fat-free mass, total, intracellular and extracellular water; 50 kHz phase angle | Estimated body-fat percentage |
Fat-free mass is not pure muscle mass. A single result is not a diagnosis. Different devices and similarly named metrics may use definitions that are not interchangeable.
